Which runner works with this server
The Muted Tune runner is the small program on your rehearsal computer that sends each practice to your band. It checks in with this server and updates itself. This page lists every release, what it needs and what changed.
This server: version fc0d647, runner interface 1.
What you need
The newest runner is 0.1.0 (2026-10-16), for linux aarch64, linux x86_64. Runners older than 0.0.0 are asked to update before they can send anything (no runner is held back right now). While a runner waits for its update, your files stay on the computer and go up afterwards; nothing is lost.
Browser uploads from the player work on any computer and need no runner.

- Uploads your band's practice exports (`.dawproject`) in the background and tells you when the songs are ready. - Finds your recording program and shows how to get its export to Muted Tune. - Checks in with the server for its version and what it supports, and uses only what the server offers. - Updates itself in one click (`mutedtune update`): the download is checked against the Muted Tune release signature first, and the old version is kept so `mutedtune update --rollback` can go back. - If the server needs a newer runner, uploads wait on this computer (nothing is lost) and the window offers the update.
Updating
The runner tells you when a new version is ready and updates in one click (or run mutedtune update). Every download is checked against our signature before it replaces the old one, and the old one is kept so you can go back with mutedtune update --rollback. A runner installed by a system package manager is updated by that instead.
