New
- Every member now has a personal account instead of sharing one band password.
- Invite people to your band with a link, a QR code or an email.
- "This is me" lets you pick every part you play, and the player mutes them for you.
- Notifications on your phone or computer when there is a new practice, or someone asks to join.
- Upload a .dawproject file straight from your browser, no helper program needed.
- Upload one audio file per instrument, or the files from a mixer or multitrack recorder, and they become a song.
- Set up the rehearsal computer with a single command.
- Download everything your band has stored, or delete your band.
- A privacy policy that says in plain words what we keep and why.
- A Compatibility page that shows which rehearsal computer app versions work with the server.
- A bounty board where beta bands can earn free months by helping us test.
Rehearsal computer app
- Version 0.1.1: - The window can start Muted Tune for you instead of showing a command. - Clearer setup message on NixOS. - Setup checks everything it needs before downloading anything, and tells you the one line that fixes what is missing for your Linux. - "Tell a friend about Muted Tune": a card with a QR code and a Copy link button in the window (and in the tray menu) when your band's server offers a share link. You can hide it, and it only nudges you now and then. - The About section shows which server you are connected to instead of a build code. - Commands no longer print technical log lines; connecting with a setup link no longer asks you to confirm the band name.
- Version 0.1.0: - Uploads your band's practice exports (`.dawproject`) in the background and tells you when the songs are ready. - Finds your recording program and shows how to get its export to Muted Tune. - Checks in with the server for its version and what it supports, and uses only what the server offers. - Updates itself in one click (`mutedtune update`): the download is checked against the Muted Tune release signature first, and the old version is kept so `mutedtune update --rollback` can go back. - If the server needs a newer runner, uploads wait on this computer (nothing is lost) and the window offers the update.
